Well, I know there are many wonderful Grand Teton trip reports on this site, but I spent some time writing up this trip report mainly for my buddies who I took up the Owen-Spaulding route last weekend for their first climb in the magnificient Tetons and so I wanted to share. The Grand means a lot to me as it is where I cut my teeth for climbing, so to speak. This trip report is definitely nothing crazy as its just the normal OS route with chimney variation, but for those who may be interested in reading it I hope you enjoy and perhaps some beta/pics are helpful for those aspiring OS climbers.
Great you all got a weather window, unfortunate for the lad who took a fall during the storm. It reminds me of the saying, ”Anything can happen at Anytime to Anyone in the mountains”.
Let me know if you ever want to go get back and do the Exum direct!
Very cool how this mountain meant so much to you and that it helped start turn you into such a great mountaineer that helped inspire so many people just like me and James. We would be honored to have you with us when we go back for the Exum at some point.
Your comments are very much appreciated. Thank you. Would love at some point to head back up there - I'd like to make it an annual gig - and I really appreciate you wanting me to come with you guys. Hope you are well.
Enjoyed the narrative - quite the peak to get one hooked. Hope to see you around this fall.
