Day 2: A Centennial and extra credit

TH: Upper Huerfano TH (aka Lily Lake TH)
RT: 7.9 mi.
Vert.: 3,630 ft.
Crew: cftbq, broncotw, James Jennings
After a night of rain and wind, we got another rather late start. The morning was calm but still gray, as we made our way up the standard Mt. Lindsey route to near timberline, where we were presented with the silhouette of "Huerfanito":
We had to climb most of the way up Iron Nipple before we could see our real objective, "Huerfano Peak." From the summit, we could finally scope out our remaining route.
Iron Nipple has nifty little knife edge just below the summit.
After a rocky descent to the low point between the two peaks, it's just a gentle ridge walk.
There's a nice view of Lindsey (would have been better with good light...)
from "Huerfano's" summit
The route back down offers a nice view of the valley north of Blanca and Ellingwood.
