 99 days - a story of perseverance

Crosier mountain in Glen Haven, CO is only 9233 ft. in elevation. This story is one that is very personal, and I post only to offer hopes to others with similar challenges.

Adam, thanks for sharing this. Crosier is a very nice peak and the first one I climbed after my shoulder surgery last year. Way to go!

A friend of mine broke his leg in much the same way you did in a motorcycle accident. He had a lot of support from his family and friends too, the key to his recovery was his faith. After a long recovery, he too got back on the horse and has done very well.

Very touching story about a determined man who achieved a big goal!
Thanks for posting! Now go break those crutches to pieces!

So happy for you!     2013-06-03 08:20:24
I knew you could do it. Injury and recovery really makes you question yourself and your ability. Congratulations, and thanks for posting! Very Happy trails!

Thanks for the daily journal-type breakdown of your recovery - made it easy to relate to the hardships. Injuries like this seem to be so much more emotionally painful for people with such a strong desire to live.

1900' & 8.5 miles just 3 months later? A nice set of numbers and further proof that recovery is possible. As for the itch inside a cast, a coat hanger can reach unreachable places -- but hopefully you will never be in such a setting again.
