 Butter Knife

The Butter Knife

Woke up in Frisco with snow on the ground and dark clouds all around us. It was about 530a.m. and i was a little scared that we were not going to be able to ski today. But after some bacon and eggs and a nice hot cup off coffee miranda and i were out the door. We meet two of are other friends on the top of hoosier around 645. We had two cars so we decided to drive down to Montgomery Lake and leave a car down there. Drove back up to the top of Hooser pass and were on the trail no later then 720. When we left there was only one other car at the traiL head. The begining of this skin was very easy, all you do is fallow a four wheel drive road around Hoosier hump and then you are at the Bass of North star.

We were moving at a very slow pass because one of are friends had had a very fun long night with the boys, he was struggling! But after about 230 hours we were about to summit.

Once we had gotten to the top the wind really started to pick up! We hid behind a wind lip and had some food and water. As we sat there we started to watch rocks move up hill? Nope we were actually watching over 20 people hiking up or skiing down Cristo Couloir and Quandry. It is crazy for me to think that we were going to ski a line just a mile or so away and we had the hole thing to are self becasue it was not a 14er. The whole skiing 14er thing is getting crazy out of control. After we had some food and water are bodys started to cool down so we headed west on the ridge to the butter knife.

We all now know why this line is called the butter knife it is SO FUN, AND PERFECT CORN SKIING, IT WAS AWSOME!!!!!! Now the fun part began, the ski out to the lake. It was a little rocky and wet but after about an 30mins or so we were back at the lake.

The crazyest part of this trip was that all day we had storms all around us but some how we were in the sun all day, until the lake. Right when we got to the lake it started to dump on us!
