A few of us from 14ers.com, including Boggy B, rpb13, and myself headed down to the Cordillera Blanca in Peru for a few weeks of climbing in July 2012. Here is a link to the TR:

Sounds like a hell of a trip. Huascaran will still be there I imagine. Always nice to end a trip in style too. Sounds like a lot of logistics and you guys pulled it off well. Bravo.

Was wondering what in the hell was all over that pack laying on the ground... then reading that it was donkey shit. HAAHA! what a day that must've been!

This is sweet. Sounds like quite the trip. I've been fascinated with the Huaraz area for awhile - a few research projects on the hazards you mentioned - and I hope to get out there within the next few years. Great job, all.

Hopefully I'll get out with some of you guys in the Colorado hills this year.

Congrats on some great peaks     2012-08-01 14:51:51
The South American peaks seem to be your go-to mountains, and they definitely look like they are worth it. I remember your red hat getting chewed on by marmots on Little Bear. That seems so long ago now. I also can't help but notice that you seem to be stalked by a lot of fat Ohio State cheerleaders (I believe one followed you up N. Maroon too). Glad to hear you are finally done with school; I just finished up as well. We'll have to get back out soon and catch up.

INCREDIBLE!!!     2012-08-01 15:45:03
I have a Peruvian friend that has climbed Huascaran. He fell and had a near death experience on the way down. It is a tough mountain. Great pictures and congrats on your incredible accomplishments!

Man, what a trip! Gringo surcharges, a breastfeeding baby and a fat porter named Jesus -- it had it all. Your TRs always make me laugh. And your photos are amazing, especially the avalanche shot. Well done.
