 Cirque of the Towers

Its been a long time since I've written a trip report. A few weeks ago I finally made it to Cirque of the Towers in Wyoming's Wind River Range, had a great time and felt like sharing. Hope people don't mind if I link to the report... kind of got a bad taste in my mouth when 14erworld died and all my reports disappeared overnight.

The return of SarahT here! Impressive, aesthetic peaks and routes. The third vertically-oriented picture is inspiring. Good luck to you and Teresa on the return!

I'd love to get up there one of these days. Excellent description and photos (especially of Wolf's Head!). What's next? We need to get out and climb something solid together!

Thanks for the introduction to some places I haven't seen. Looks like an amazing trip.

Looks awesome!     04/02/2015 19:45
Way to go. Thanks for the great TR!

Good stuff sarah     07/20/2012 17:15
Great out of state report, looks like you've upgraded your gear in the photography department. Cirque of the Towers should be nicknamed ”Lone Eagles Cirque on Bath Salts”. Image #4 is amazing. Must just be awesome to have a life partner to share all these things with.

Good job and thanks for the report. Hopefully we'll see more from you in the future.

Amazing trip!     07/20/2012 18:27
What an incredible adventure, guys! The last two climbs look very harrowing and intimidating to say the least! I can't imagine climbing 11 pitches on an alpine wall. Both of you have advanced so much in your technical abilities in the 4 years I've hiked with you. Heck of a trip and thanks for sharing, Sarah. I have missed your TR's!

What a beautiful area. Pics 1, 4, and 11 are incredible.

Oh yeah, impressive climbing too.

Love the descriptions of the mental challenges and how you dealt with them. Very interesting... also pretty terrifying!

I’d heard through the grapevine that you had become quite the rock climber… this report certainly confirms it, not that I doubted it in the least.

Nice to see a new TR from you - hope there will be more!

Thanks Sarah!     07/21/2012 13:26
This is the kind of trip I hope to get more into as I retire, but for now, I enjoyed following your lead.

Beautiful Place     07/21/2012 14:46
It sure is nice living vicariously through your climbing adventures you and Dominic do together, you guys are a rare pair!

Great report & pics     07/21/2012 22:50
Really nice report, Sarah, looks like a great trip. And all that quality granite, very enticing!

Glad you're back!     07/22/2012 23:00
Thanks for a great TR! Alpine trad fun is where it's at for sure! Glad you guys had a safe trip. There are many in the Wind River Range and RMNP that remain on the ol' tick list. If you ever need a partner...
