 Short and sweet

Huron Peak is definitely the most beautiful peak i have been on thus far...i had read a lot about the views and they definitely didnt disappoint. I left golden at 340 to meet rick in frisco at 445. we hit the trail about 645 or so. I feel like its worth pointing out that the 4wd road seems to be pretty rough for being rated the same as grays/torreys road. There were a couple of big dips and rough spots...i definitely felt like it was a rougher road than bakerville. i was glad we were in ricks tacoma. there was a forester at the trailhead though, so with skillful driving some smaller vehicles could make it.

this hike was awesome in every way. the trail was probably the nicest/smoothest 14er trail i have been on. The scenery is amazing on every segment of the hike...the view of the three apostles was everything that i hoped it would be. the hike through the basin is beautiful and then the hike up the ridge to the summit has 360 degree views of high peaks...it was simply spectacular.

gonna leave the words short on this one and let the pictures tell the story. If you havent hiked huron yet, you should go get it. you wont be disappointed!

This is probably the worst TH access road in the Sawatch, with the possible exception of the road to the SW TH on Massive. But you shouldn't be surprised to see a Forester there; it's a very capable car, and I've seen lots of them at rough trailheads.
