 Mt. Elbert

Mt. Elbert was much harder than I thought. I have done a handful of 14ers but I wasn't prepared for 3 false summits. We missed the parking lot (it was a bit dark), and drove until we hit the mt. massive trail. Don't make that mistake...so we ended up starting at around 7a.m.

The first couple of hours were all trees and uphill through a forest, it was really pretty.

The rest of the way was all vertical and when we hit the 2nd false summit, I cursed myself all the way to the top. ha

Totally worth it though! We got back down at around two thirty.
