 Snowmass: West Slope

We were actually able to get my 2WD vehicle pretty far up the 4WD road before getting to anything impassable.
Even though we made it farther than anticipated, we still had a long 4WD road hike ahead of us to get to the trailhead.
After losing all the elevation we gained on the road we got to the trail.
We hiked up past the waterfall, and the lakes and got to the talus field below the West Slope.
We took the class 3 gully up and found plenty of solid rock on either side of it. There was some water running down the middle of it too.
We were surprised to end up right at the summit, without any ridge traversing.

We hung out on the summit for awhile then headed down. Cool route, long day, fun scrambling, beautiful views, awesome day!

I did a solo summit from the East Slope the same day. Summitted around 9:20am. Great weather and great climb.
