Dallas Peak, including the summit this time

Failed to summit Dallas in early May having gotten as far as the summit climb. Climbing partner suggested another attempt in lieu of RGPyramid climb . . . snow likely gone so why not?

Over the course of a 15 1/2 hour climb and we managed to put 2 of 4 on the summit. A bit different in the dry . . . the lack of snow turned the whole approach, after leaving the Sneffels High Line Trail, into a scree slog as compared to a smooth crampon cruise. Route finding was easier in the snow and much more obvious. The descent was no longer a pick the gully of your choosing where the snow pack smoothed out the short drops and allowed multiple descent routes. Now, having seen snow and dry, my choice would be snow.

We were there a week before your June attempt.
Came back August 18. I saw it and Roger W. cleaned it out. It is in excellent shape still. Give me your mailing address and I will mail to you via USPS.
