 Elbert - Northeast Ridge

So my dad and I got up around 4:30 A.M. and drove down to Lead ville and got to the Elbert trailhead around 5:30. The trail was clear of snow and going up was great except for the fact that I had a bad pair of socks to go hiking in so I had a pretty good blister early on so it kinda hurt but I pushed on anyway and ignored it. We hit tree line early on and it had some rewarding views. We had yet to see glimpse of snow on the ground even at tree line and we wouldn't until much further up. We later learned that there was an expedition of around 60 people going up around 30 minutes behind us so we hauled it up there this was not fun considering that we were even going relatively fast through the steep sections. Luckily there was no snow on the trail for most of the route and we didn't see snow until the final summit pitch and this snow was mostly avoidable. We stayed ahead of the crowds and made it to the summit and made the climb back down. The weather cooperated through the whole hike and overall it was a great day on Elbert and I'd love to do Elbert again in the near future.

I appreciate

any info from this site about 14er conditions, but this piece resembles a condition update more than a trip report. You seemed to be receptive to the constructive feedback provided to you by the site administrator, so why the resistance?

My condition update from this last weekend contained more info and pictures than this. This is not a trip report. When you post something like this as a trip report it pushes down all the real trip reports that contain valuable information and pictures that people are looking for. Please remove and post in condition update.

You don't care what the haters think yet as soon as Bill tells you your TR is not a TR you immediately become a yes man (throws up devil horns). The fact that you came back to check the ”TR” for feedback indicates you do care, so keep pretending.

Hopefully as you continue to use this site you'll follow the norms that nearly all the other members of this climbing community follow to help keep this site great, including not using foul/offensive language and following the instructions that pop up before you add certain content.

don't be hating

for me, current conditions are the most valuable information in trip reports (and trip reports are more easy to navigate to from the route description sites than the condition updates).
So, thank you Mountain Goat1...
But Peezy167, why are you hating them 40 year olds? You know, you might be one one day. And really, old age is not so bad if you consider the alternative.

Look to tell you the truth I do the best I can when I write these reports and I am just a beginner so can we all stop with the back and forth negative comments to each other.
