Well after a nice trip up Elbert on Friday followed by a night of more than a little drinking, I knew the best cure for sore legs and a hang over is to climb a 14er, right. So I chugged some water, had some coffee, and a giant breakfast burrito, and head to the closest 14er, Mt. Sherman. I have hiked it a few times before, so I knew I could just take it easy and make a nice little half day hike out of it.
Got to the TH right around 10a, a few cars were there and I could see there trail through the fairly large snow fields. I broke out the snow shoes, not about to chance any post holing.

I got into the gully and the wind started picking up so I ended up putting some more layers back on.
Once I reached the top of the ridge I could see there were a lot of people, but due to my late start most were on their way back down. I stopped and talk to a few and other than the constant wind (which I cursed a few time) it was an uneventful climb.
There was no one on the summit when I got there and the wind had calmed down. I took out my favorite beer, sat down and leaned up against my pack, and chilled for about 45 min just taking in the sun and views. Took a few pics and made a quick trip down and back to the car.

Did you happen to look or take a pictures of the four mile (standard) creek TH? Is the snow avoidable? Planning to hike it this Saturday. Do you think a glacade is possible off the summit?
Im almost 100% sure there is no snow at four mile creek TH but you may have a little snow on the hike getting to the saddle. I doubt you could glacade from the summit.
