OK, NOW I'm jealous.     04/04/2012 05:31
Looks like an absolutely perfect day. Congratulations on finding the best line in the state right now!

There is Hope afterall     04/04/2012 13:49
I think you outdid yourself with this one Benners. Best TR I've seen/read in a while. Didn't realize so many solid pics (which did the day justice) were taken. Long live the ski season 2012!

Well done to all you guys!     04/04/2012 14:50
Ben, I love the sunrise shot over Bel/Ox. I did Hope this summer from Sheep Gulch and that trail was steep. Hopeful looks like a sweet line and thanks for posting. Awesome TR as always and I hope to get out with you guys soon!

Nice Report and Great Pics     04/04/2012 15:50
Thanks for posting. Getting me stoked to head up there in a couple of weeks and bag Hopeful.

Great TR     04/04/2012 16:40
Thanks for TR! Looks like one of the better lines in the state this season!

Hopeful & Optimism     04/04/2012 17:11
Nice report, and great photos!
Congrats to all!

An approach from the N, in a good snow year, could look something like this....

A gem!     04/04/2012 18:54
Mount Hope is a great peak! Did you happen to find the natural spring bubbling out the side of the trail? I filled a water bottle up in it after a great day on the mtn last summer. It looks so much better in spring!

Great Line!     04/04/2012 19:52
Yet another to add to the ski list Some lines/peaks just need to be skied. Already hiked it from the other side, but I don't mind repeats on good peaks!

Excellent TR Ben     04/04/2012 23:41
That was a fun day. Thanks guys!!

Looks rad...     04/05/2012 00:18
Always wondered about that one. Good work!

Nice write up!     04/05/2012 02:07
Lots of good pics you all took as well.

Nice work!     04/05/2012 04:42
Sarah and I came to the exact same conclusion regarding the approach when we climbed it a few years ago. We didn't hit it with quite the best conditions and opted not to ski the couloir. Glad you guys managed to nail it, especially in such a challenging snow season. I'm super impressed that Brian and Ben had the energy for an even bigger outing the following day. Crazy!

Nice double, Ben...     04/05/2012 05:01
Photo 9 is pretty damn slick. I like the summit lounge shot too. Your skills with the camera are very underrated. Good to see you and the usual suspects finally getting a piece of the pie. Long overdue.

I hope to catch up with you soon.

Matt - I have good news, I think it'll be in awhile longer!

Darin - That shot really puts this season into perspective...

Chinook - We didn't run into any natural springs but I bet that would be a nice place to stop and rest in summer!

Cincy - We definitely looked to your TR for beta, thanks for that and thank you for the kind words!

Kevin - Thanks man, I agree. It is nice to get to ski something in good condition, I can only hope we're able to get a few more days like this before the season is out. Looking forward to getting out with you again.

Thanks for the comments!

I love this time of year. I don't ski mountaineer and probably never will because trip reports like this give me plenty of good vicarious living without the terror of pointing two sticks down mountain and taking off. I'm sure reading is not as fun as being there but I'll take it nonetheless. Enjoyed the report.

The pic of the crew resting on the summit is awesome. Good work all.

Fun crew cool line     04/06/2012 14:58
Looks like a great day. Agreed that summit shot of everyone lounging around waiting is classic. I didn't realize you had one roommate (Jamie) on your trip and I had the other (Adam) on mine. It's a close connection but we should just go ahead and actually ski something together.

Giving us hope...     04/06/2012 19:28
Might have to check this one out on Sunday, to avoid the traffic jam...

Re:     04/08/2012 01:27
Kimo - That's exactly how I used to think, then I picked up some skis and went for it .

Carl - I didn't make that connection either, go figure. Let's get out soon.

Brennan - Enjoy it man!

Thanks for the info!     04/08/2012 23:50
Skied Hopeful yesterday and it didn't disappoint. It was still a bit firm up top when we dropped in around 11:30 but was still a blown-in-powder filled turn-fest.
