After sleeping in a littler later than I had planned, I got down to Local Joes for coffee an a very large burrito that I would proceed to eat away at all day until finishing it when I got home. I love the Ten Mile/Mosquito range for its corn season and proximity to home allowing me to sleep in my bed! I was skiining by 6:30 and was gaining treeline a little after the sun was hitting Crystal and Father Dyer.
Father Dyer and Crystal
I gained the ridge to the south of summit after deeming a couloir climb could end in some scramble of unkown difficulty.
The two ski options from part way up
You can see the two ski options in the photo above, I took the on lookers left as it was in from the ridge with no down climb
Quandary North Face and The Great Wall
Quandary North not in but a fun line to the lookers right of the great wall
Fletcher Atlantic and Hawai Chutes
Hawai chutes looking good
Summit at 10:30
Ski option 1 from near summit
This shot is of the first ski option which had a bit of a down climb to get in. This pic makes the downclimb look larger that really is but the gusts of wind made getting in a bit risky. On a better snow year this is for sure a great option.
Ski option 1
This is a good shot of ski option 1 from on top of the downclimb.
Ski option 2
Since I didnt feel like down climbing option one I decided to check out a line I had see closer to the summit.
Here is the descent from the top. I dropped in around 11:15
Crux from Top
Here is a shot of the crux, I had to make a left kick turn and then straight line over the rock/ice crux then dump speed before the exposure I was straightlineing towards.
Crux From Bottom
Pic of the crux from below
Rest of the line
The rest of the ski was continuous to the car stopping only to take a few pics of the route
