 South east-Mt. Elbert

We arrived early at 7am. The 4 wd road was easy in our ford f150. The trail was dry from start to summit. No mosquitos out in the morning, that was nice. Cool at starting, about freezing. Temps warmed quickly to mid day highs around 50. We took our time, taking in the peaking fall colors...about 8 hours round trip. At the summit we were joined by a mountain goat, he came up the west side & stayed for about 15 min or so.
If you can get up before snow moves in you can still bag Elbert and enjoy the fall colors.

Just a hint of green left. Colors should be prime this weekend into early next week.
