 bierstadt/twin sisters

Three weeks ago my Mom and I climbed Mt.Bierstadt with Sophie. She is the little girl who inspired me to start this whole project in the first place. Mom and I were supposed to meet them at the trail head at 6 but it was a bit later. We started off on the trail with a view of the summit almost the full way up. Sophie was a little power house. She kicked my butt. the final summit scramble was as fun as I remembered it being and we summited about 3 hours after leaving the trail head. the descent took about 2 hours but it went really fast. After that we headed to Beau Jos pizza in Georgetown.

Part II twin sisters
This Sunday mom and I were supposed to climb Torreys peak before Loveland High school Homecoming, but due to weather and snowy conditions we decided to move the climb to 11,660ft. twin sisters.Mom and I have done this one 3 times together and she has done it countless times before I even was in existence. But we started with less than promising conditions, we could see snow accumulating on Longs and Meeker about five miles across the valley from us.but we decided to go for it. All it did through out the hike was be cold and cloudy. Mom and I reached the summit in just over 2 hours. We spent about 10 minutes talking to a couple up there and then went down the mountain. As expected it took longer to get down than we thught so by the time we were at the trail head, we were pretty tired. Over all it was an amazing climb. Even though we committed to doing 9 14ers this year for climb with Jack we are really happy that we were able to get 8 14ers in and 9 mountains overall.
