 Handies fun

Well today I went for a climb close to home. I decided to try and take my mother who did suprisingly well. We started from the trail head at 7:15 and made our way up at a good pace for having her with me.

After getting to the flat area below sloan lake we were in a little group of ptarmigans.

We made our way up to sloan lake and continued along following up the trail leading to all the switchbacks.

After reaching the saddle we stopped for a couple pictures to take in the beautiful scenes.

False summit my mother started getting scared of hights and she decided to sit back like 150 ft from the summit.
You can see my mother wish she made it.

Reached the summit at 9:20am alone and stayed for just a moment before i left.

Back to the car and some shots of animas forks.

Just some pretty pictures.

Glad you made it. Sorry your mom didn't. I was right where your mom was when a storm was coming and I didn't get to claim my first ever 14'er. That was 3 years ago and I still don't have my first. Congrats on your second.

Sorry to hear about your 14er misfortune

Yah weather was nice and clear. She was just scared more so of the fact that there was nothing else ”up”. And got freaked....which ironicly she went down just fine with no problems. But good luck to you on getting your first. Get up ther and go get it.
