After Monday's fiesta at Long's Peak I decided to take it a bit easier today. I left Colorado Springs around 0415 and arrived at the Kite Lake Trailhead around 700. If you are trying to find the small sign that says Kite Lake as the 14er.com route says, it is a very small street sign just like the other ones around it so it is very easy to miss.
the trailhead marking
The trailhead is easily marked so there was no confusion as to where I was going. I started off at a brisk pace in order to get all 3/4 (whatever) summits in on one day. The scenery behind me made me stop often to snap off pictures.

looking north(?) from ascent of Democrat
I reached the summit of Democrat at 0830 after having left the TH at 0710, so a 1 hr 20 min hike. This was honestly the hardest part of the whole day. From here on out it was taking in scenery and the occasional conversation with other hikers.

I headed off towards Cameron. The best view of Democrat and its false summit can be seen in the picture below.
false summit and Democrat
After what could not have been more than 45 minutes of hiking I found myself at the Cameron summit. Since it is not officially ranked it does not have one of the elevation markers. I walked around the summit for a while trying to find one but I'm pretty sure there isn't one, was just making sure though.
After my walkthrough of Cameron I set off towards Lincoln. This is the mountain that I had unsuccessfully climbed this past spring in the snow. I was glad to see this guy getting closer.
Lincoln from Cameron
Again, the summit of Lincoln was very close to Cameron and after a short while I was at the summit. The view from this peak is probably the best out of the 3/4.

After a snack of carrots and a good chug of water I set off for the last summit, Bross. There is a trail that does not go all the way up Cameron. Instead it almost stays level for most of the way to Bross.

Again, it was a very simple hike, which, was a relief after Long's Peak on Monday. So I read that the summit of Bross is closed technically, so theoretically if I had gone all the way to the summit the view from the summit would look like the picture below.

This hike was very fun and thankfully the weather held up. I was going to try and go crazy and hit Quandry as well since I finished at 1140 but I decided against it after seeing the front part of a dark cloud peaking over the mountains. 4.5 hours and 4 summits, not too bad, plus it is a great workout, great scenery, and overall an awesome time.
