Wilson Peak - A pleasantly crumbly class 4 ride

Finally got around to writing this one up from 2 weeks ago - sorry about the delay. Hopefully the info is still good for those of you looking to do the Wilsons this weekend and beyond!

If nothing else, please enjoy my photos (or tell me they suck, either is fine with me).

Happy climbing!

Thanks for the shot of Lizard Head! That's exactly what I was looking for since I'm trying to get down there very soon. Very nice photos! What type of camera are you using?

Thanks!     2011-07-14 07:02:40
Brian - I am using a Nikon D7000. Loving it. Just got my sensor cleaned yesterday so the photo editing should take much less time... hahahaha. Glad the Lizard Head photo was useful! 8)

Very useful indeed, especially as a motivator. I wasn't sure how much snow was up there still. Now I just have to twist my partner's arm into driving all the way down there!

At least the drive is pretty! When we were at the lake we ran into a guy that had driven 12 hours from southern New Mexico to do the climbs. Now that's dedication!

Hi Butterflyer - I wrote up a fairly decent explanation on that in my San Luis trip report:

Let me know if you need more info!

Of the last three star pictures, I like the second one best. The last one almost seemed too busy, but they were all awesome! Phenomenal pictures!

Thanks for writing the report and congratulations on your summit, hopefully Regina will get hers the next time. I am looking forward to doing this trip sometime this summer (have to add those 14ers to the list!)
