Windy but clear day on Lindsey and Huerfano

Drove to the trailhead in my 2wd Jeep Patriot (just a car with a Jeep sticker on it). I scraped bottom just a little on the same bump going each direction. Besides that it was just a matter of avoiding the occasional big rock and driving through one large but not very deep puddle.

The trail itself is in good shape though as it nears treeline there is still some decent snow. However with the amount of trail busting we did, future hikers shouldn't have any problems.

Pretty windy day. One gust that had to have been in the 40 to 50 mph range. Besides that one though gusts were in the 30s. Not enough to deter anyone from reaching the summit.

Full trip report here.

Loved the awesome photos and trip report! Especially the gap on the Iron Nipple.

Was fun sharing stories on the summit and joining the crew up/down the gully. I'll have to work on my summit photos to get more mountains in the background.

bridget - you almost got it

Nothing like the mountains to put you in a good place. Congrats on Heurfano and welcome back to altitude.

I'm heading up there next weekend, and appreciate your efforts to plow a trail through the snow. Hopefully my day will be easier thanks to your hard work!

Sorry about getting your name wrong. I'm terrible with names. I've corrected it in the trip report now. Loved your sense of humor on the hike, kept me laughing.
