 Mt Sherman - East Ridge

My friends Rob and Jordan joined me in a 7AM start off of CR18 out of Fairplay to summit Mount Sherman. We all agreed to just poke along with about four 15 minute breaks. No rush! we made it to the summit about 12:30. It was very clear skies. We never put on snowshoes the whole way up. We left the summit about 1PM with the downward heal approach. Then finally at the valley we had to put on the shoeshoes due to very soft snow for a short period until we hit the road again. Caution - just before hitting the road their is a small bridge over a lip to 20ft drop or more. Do not go there. Very soft snow. Continue onward with snow shoes on throught the dirt and then hit snow to glissen down a few slopes. Opps - forgot to mention that we all went the snow route to the right away from any potential disaster.
The 1st photo is Jordan (his 1st 14er) and second photo is his dad Rob (his 3r colorado 14er) and last me ( a few more 14er).

Looks like fun! How did the standard route look? Is there still a huge cornice in the saddle?

Still a huge questionable cornice in the saddle for the standard route.
