Smokey Lincoln and Cameron Ski Descents

We left the TH at around 545am and made quick progress to the Lincoln falls then to the Lincoln amphitheatre. Snow was continuous from the TH

We were climbing directly over running water and we could here it beneath the snow. We both agreed that it could be sketchy when unfrozen.

The smoke made the sun appear orange.

Then once above the waterfalls, we started skinning.

Into the amphitheatre

We would cut a right in the amphitheatre and gained the NE ridge of Lincoln rather than taking a standard route.
Zach making progress gaining the NE ridge on steep snow with his new whippet.

Zach enjoying himself on the ridge

The ridge flattened abruptly, at this point the taste and the smell of the smoke was very noticeable.

Looking at the final bit of the route to the summit

Zach showed up just a little bit after I did. We talked about plans and he didn't see a point to skiing Cameron (Neither did I). I put the skis on my pack and walked over to tag Cameron anyway.

Looking back at Lincoln.

I tried getting a solo shot of my face with Lincoln in the back atop Cameron, but failed.
This will have to do.

I clicked in and skied off the summit of Cameron. Then when enough was enough I put the skis back on my pack and made my way back to the saddle and then Lincoln.

Looking at what I skied on Cameron. It was gnarly!

Back on top of Lincoln, its all downhill now right?

Zach skiing right off the summit.

Corn, corn, corn, corn, corn.

We only had to take the skis of twice the entire descent.
We were back to the falls and treeline in no time.

The descent was great, one of my favorites this year. We got back to the car at about 11:30pm. The descent time was about 30 minutes. Besides being my 17th and 18th ski descents, there was something else special about today. Today was the first time I drove to the TH and back!

Thanks for an awesome day Zach!

Eric, congrats on number 17 and number 18. And a new license!!

You're really getting after the spring corn crop, harvesting plenty of acreage this season!
