Crags Trailhead

Info: Plowed to the Mennonite campground and packed down with a 2-4" inch deep fluffy snowhawk after. My car didn't make it much past the campground (fun fact: traction control doesn't work when you are in reverse!) and nudged a snowbank. Clearance wasn't a super big issue, but tire type was. All seasons didn't quite cut it. Seems like everyone else was easily able to make it to the winter gate though!

Info: The road was almost dry to winter TH (1.1m 300 vert feet below main summer parking). But will be snowing at night.
Edit: Climbed to top in 10h. My 6-th snow 14er this winter. TR at LoJ

Info: The road is now plowed to the usual winter trailhead and is passable by 2wd.

Info: The heavy snow from November has not been plowed past the Mennonite church. The road is impassible past the church and there is no parking allowed from the highway to the church, so this puts a start at the highway. This adds 4 miles and 500 feet of vert roundtrip.

Info: Good conditions right now, almost any car should make it without issue if you take it slow in the bad spots.

Info: There's a good sized hole that covers most of the road just past the winter gate. I scraped in my Impreza going in, but was able to squeeze by skiers right on the way out. Not sure if it's the same hole Bigfoot reported on last month, as the road is a bit rough by the Mennonite camp as well (but passable).

Info: After driving to South Colony Lakes 4wd trailhead earlier in the week, this was uneventful. Nothing to see here! This is a decent road for 2wd vehicles when driving at a reasonable speed for the conditions.

Info: Road is ok, had to take it pretty slow in a 2WD/RWD low clearance car. There was a large puddle after the turn by the mennonite buildings that spans almost the entire width of the road. Scraped bottom on my way out from that puddle.

Info: Arrived at 5:40am and were only 4 other cars in the parking lot. Couple lightly washboarded areas coming up from the mennonite camp but nothing that would present an issue for a 2WD. Having bathrooms is nice especially after a longer drive in + from the descent.

Info: Road is clear and in good summer conditions. It should be fine for most cars.

Info: Gate is closed about one mile below the summer trailhead. Road is in good shape to the mennonite camp, pretty rutted out from there to the gate. Personally, I wouldn't take a low clearance vehicle up there but the road seemed to be melting even just over the course of the day so it might be fine within a week, who knows.

Info: Road is not plowed thru the Mennonite camp. There is no parking in the usual places. You'd have to park downhill of the camp. That's going to add 3-4 miles round trip.

Info: The road is still open to the trailhead. Snowpacked past the Mennonite Camp, some slick spots. There were cars and AWD SUV's that made it there. Don't park in front of the gate to the Crags Campground as SAR might need access there if they get called out on a mission, as I saw one person do.
