From the US 285 / US 24 junction, just south of Buena Vista, drive 9 miles south on US 285. Turn west onto County Road (CR) 270 and begin measuring mileage. Drive 1.5 miles on CR 270 to a junction. Continue straight on CR 272 (dirt) to 3.5 miles, at an intersection. Stay on CR 272 by turning left (south) and continuing to the trailhead at 5.1 miles.
