Road is passable for 2wd vehicles for approx 2mi from I-70. Road is blocked by avalanche debris mentioned below and will likely stay that way for quite some time. Parking is limited. Closure is at ~10,800'. Road is almost completely melted beyond this point; skiers will most likely want to bring trail runners to hike to summer TH and possibly beyond.

Once you find a parking spot and pass the avalanche debris how far is the actual trail head of Grays Trail? The recent articles in 5280 listed the Greys & Torreys loop as 8.25 miles--I'm just curious to know how accurate others would say this is?

It adds an additional mile in each direction, so about 2mi total round trip.
