Route is snow-free until shortly after the junction with the Kroenke Lake trail. After that, trail is muddy and, at times, stream-like due to snow melt. Large (in width and height) patches of snow turn into non-stop snow soon after. Snow was bootable in the morning, but flotation is highly recommended for later in the day. Snowshoes made the descent a breeze. Met up with a group who did not have flotation and they had a miserable time postholing. Snow turned to mush quickly in the morning hours, so I stuck near the rocky sections along the ridge as postholing was deep in the patches of snow. Good glissade from the ridge to the basin.
