No snow, verglas, etc on NW Face. Bone Dry. Same goes for the traverse to Blanca, as well as the traverse to Ellingwood. It's wide open summer conditions up there. Have fun, be safe.

Did you camp at Lake Como? Any problems with bears?

Sorry for the delay on the response. We didn't personally have any problems with bears (we did the grand slam in a day from the lower trailhead: 14 hours, 7,500' gain/loss, 17 miles), but we did indeed cross paths with some out-of-staters whose camp had been raided while we were hiking out. Additionally, we got pics of someone else's camp getting raided 100 yards from the original site. We scared the bear off and within the wreckage found that the missing party had kept trash in their camp (ground level, in their trekking packs) and had at least 40' of paracord perfectly bundled, not in use. We donated what food we had left and hung their bags with their own paracord, and left.
