Hell of a day up on Mt. Yale due to poor planning and following others' confused footprints. The first report from June 7 mentioned the difficulty of finding the trail in the snow filled basin immediately below treeline. My partner and I followed footprints and two other groups that led way left and ended up hiking for two or three additional hours on scree as we attempted to gain the ridge. Otherwise the trail was great and easy to follow. |
