Cottonwood pass is clear to the trail head. Still a considerable amount of snow on the trail. I used spikes on the way up, and threw my snow shoes on during the descent after I started post holing to the waist. The trail is a bit difficult to follow in areas with a lot of accumulation, partly because there are lots of footpaths and ski tracks that split off in these places. It was a gorgeous day, warm temperatures and minimal wind. |
