 Report

Given the amount of heavy rains in the state, there is some washout on the trails going up Missouri Gulch and Missouri Mountain. However, the trails are still in good shape and water flow from the creeks has not affected any of the creek crossings. Snow atop Missouri and Belford that was present this morning melted out by afternoon.

Expect a few potholes, but the road was in good shape. You won't have any troubles driving a car up CR 390 at all.

Chaffee Co 390 & 4x4 to Clohesy Lake     2013-09-23 16:16:42
Chaffee Co 390 to Missouri Gulch TH is in great condition. Lots of wash boarding, which is normal. Remember two spot with significant pot holes; both easily navigable at slower speeds. The 4x4 road up to Clohesy Lake is in great shape for a 4x4 road. The water level in the two stream crossings is higher than normal for this time of year but easily navigable in my stock 99 4Runner. The upper portions of the road have multiple spots of ~1 foot standing water. Missouri received a solid dusting of snow yesterday morning (Sunday, 9/22) above 13,500'.
