Firm boot packed snow the entire way up. There's a very narrow line down South Slopes for a ski all the way back to the gate - though I think it may be broken up soon with the warmer weather.
Microspikes never hurt, floatation definitely unnecessary (unless you are starting late but even then the snow is avoidable on the main trail).
