I am selling my pair of Montrail I.C.E. 9 Mountaineering boots. These are in good shape and still have a lot of climbing left in them. I have used them as my primary ice climbing and mountaineering boot for the past four years. They have an integrated Montrail I.C.E. 9 Crampon that locks in the sole making the boot ridged when needed most and flexible when crampon is not attached. They also come with the integrated OR GoreTex gator that completes this mountaineering boot "system".
Montrail had a recall on the crampon a few years ago but I opted not to send mine back because they were not replacing the integrated crampon, only offering a small refund or replacement aftermarket crampon. I have had no issues with the crampon and feel confident with the design.
The key feature of this boot system is the integrated crampon as it makes for a great flexible boot on long approaches and converts to a ridged boot when the crampon is attached.
I have the original brochure in a PDF if you would like me to e-mail it to you for more info, let me know.
