Belford/Oxford Monday

Postby jmark » Sat Feb 16, 2013 6:25 pm

I hiked the Belford trail today, but left my snowshoes at 11,000' thinking I wouldn't need them. Well, from 11,300-12,000' they are necessary, so I burnt all my energy trekking through chest deep snow in parts. I'm thinking of heading back on Monday.

The trail is easily navigable with very minimal avy danger. Micro-spikes, poles, and snowshoes needed. Made it to Missouri Gulch TH no problem with my Jeep.

Let me know if anyone is interested!

Did Elbert a month ago. Might be interested in La Plata.

I'd be interested in tagging along with anyone that wants to do something on Monday. I can probably make it to the PnR in Golden if there's a free seat available. I've done Belford/Oxford in the summer, Elbert in Summer/Winter and Plata never.
