I was in Lake City a few weeks ago. While at the Sportman Outdoor and Fly Shop, I asked about coyote urine (had forgotten to bring mine). They didn't have it. You may try another place in town (maybe Dan's Fly Shop?), or better yet order it online. If all else fails, I think the Lake City coyotes frequent a saloon called Cannibal Grill.
No coyote sightings, but I have spotted cougars in the Cannibal Grill .

Also watch out for marmots in Lake City. I was eating lunch at Alice's with InvisibleBear, and a marmot crawled into the engine compartment of a pickup truck. Banging on the hood was not enough to dislodge it. When the owner opened the hood the marrmot sat safely in the rear of the engine compartment, safely out of reach, with a "what are you going to do about it" attitude. When the owner tried poking the marmot with a broomstick, the critter dropped into the bowels of the engine compartment, and clamped it's jaws onto the probing broomstick. He eventually scamperred away into a nearby engine compartment.

I use mothballs all the time to keep the critters away. I think that chicken wire mesh and tarp are an overkill.
