Terribly sad. I saw a solo climber's headlamp going around Lady Washington on the Keyhole route on Monday morning and I flashed mine at him as if to say hey. I went up Dreamweaver and descended the Keyhole but never ran into him. It doesn't feel really good knowing that he was there right before me. Unfortunately there was no sign that someone might have fallen down the Trough or the Ledges as I descended them. I sure wish I would have known. My deepest and most sincere condolences go out to his family.

Does anybody know anything more about this??

This is sad.....they hadn't been able to get to him until today's attempt......and it rained most of last evening and this morning here in Fort Collins.

What were conditions like on your descent?

The Trough is actually pretty close to 2000' feet. It starts at around 11800' where this is a small cliff band and I think the chockstone is at ~13840' or so.

Details still appear to be scarce....

A volunteer ranger at the Longs RS told me today that the person had gear - ax & crampons. If that's true then this accident is especially puzzling.

Conditions are almost all snow from the Keyhole to the summit.

Very sad news.. Condolence to the family and friends. Please be safe out there.
