I just got back from being out of town and saw this story. I know I am late to the party, but is there any update? God be with him -

Thanks

I've never met anyone here, but read this site all the time. It's one of the sites I go to every time I get on the net. When I saw the title to this thread, my first thought was that I hope it's not one of us, and sure enough it's the 1 person whos posts I look foward to reading most.

Even from way down here in Texas, I feel like I'm there with ya'll mourning. I feel like I have a ton of bricks on my shoulders. My deepest sympathies and prayers to TM's family and friends.

I'll be up in CO in September. Hopefully some of ya'll can meet up with me, and we'll have a round in honor of TM.

I just came across the news this afternoon. As multiple, multiple people have already stated on the previous 30+ pages, I never met David.

But I had.

His persona online and through his trip reports is one never to be forgotten. Being new to the Colorado area as of last summer I continue to learn a lot from this website. TalusMonkey always helped out, always wanted a hike planned, and I'm sorely upset I was never able to get on the train for one of his hikes this summer.

I did not know you, but I did. You did not know me, but you do now. I feel for your family and friends, and may you now rest in a better place.

USAKeller - Be proud of all you did. We all are. Best wishes.

I was so sorry to hear about Talus Monkey. I am in the process of moving north of the cities and have switched jobs. I have not had internet access and haven't been keeping up with the news. I used to hang on 14'ers.com nightly and enjoyed him and everyone else.

Hawbs called me at work and gave me the news about the monkey man needing to be rescued. I called him the next day and found out TM had passed on.

I never got to met him in person, but hoped to soon. He was certainly a sparkling jewel on this site and to everyone's path he crossed. He will be missed greatly by everyone.

My prayers go out to all who knew him. TM is a great example of living life to the fullest. He is a good reminder to live every day as it were your last. God is with his family.
