Just the tip
- A mountain is not a checkbox to be ticked
- Alpinism and mountaineering are not restricted to 14,000 foot mountains
- Judgment and experience are the two most important pieces of gear you own
- Being honest to yourself and others about your abilities is a characteristic of experienced climbers
- Courage cannot be bought at REI or carried with you in your rucksack

Yes.

Though I enjoy card games in general, as long as they're not too complicated. My roommate bought Munchkin which I found to be completely confusing in every way possible. Not a fan of that one.

Just received this as a gift and played last weekend with some neighbors. In the right (or wrong) hands this game is outstanding.

As it says on the box: A party game for horrible people.

So, probably not one to play with your grandparents. Unless they're just that cool.

My wife's grandma was who gave it to us. She's a bit of alright.

Breaking the + chain for the Humanity thing...

Laundry Golf. A Ziplock bag filled with nasty socks, drawers, etc. Predetermine a goal, least number of punts to the goal wins. Played to a predetermined score or until we get sick of playing. Much like Frisbee golf.
An unsuccessful day climbing is better than a successful day working.--Me.

We usually just play rock, or stick-rock, or rock-rock.

Rock- throw a rock at a target (tree, tree branch, etc for accuracy)

Rock-rock- throw a rock at another rock ( think boche)
Or another variation is to have another person throw a rock and try to hit it out of the Air. ( think skeet shooting)

Stick-rock- you throw a rock in the air and try to hit it with a stick. Like hitting a baseball.
Advanced players can combine this with rock-rock. To make a rarely attempted stick-rock-rock.

There are many variations of these games as well.

Another good one if you are prepared is duct tape golf. Buy an old putter from good will. Everyone makes their own "golf ball" out of duct tape. Pick a "hole" and tee off!

Many year ago, my backpacking partner (girlfriend) and I bought a very small, lightweight, magnetic, travel-sized checkers/chess combo. It just lives in the bottom of my pack and is always there and handy for when the need arises.

The Possum Lodge Word Game is always fun. (If you've ever watched the Red Green Show, you'll understand.)

In addition to playing Nageln with a hammer's tail, these from AreYouGame.com are easy to clip on. Little doublestick tape to mark objects with color dot (log, tree, stone, tent, ice axe, mug... moveable or not) and the fourth could get very interesting.

Not sure if I'll do more 14ers. The trip reports are too tiring.

Thank you for the respones, it is always nice to have a fun camp game. Another fun game is hackey-sack, I like the sand-hacks, but they don't kick great wet. I played a little today with some 8th graders, still got it. I also like a good game of cribbage, found a cheap plastic board for a few bucks, small and light.
