Mister Bean, I'm trying real hard not to buy an AT setup...but if you don't mind it on your conscience then feel free to enable.

I too have an addiction.

Skis and backpacks. I think I buy one of each, every year.

Eyewear - snow goggles and sunglasses. When I can afford a nice pair of glacier glasses, I'm getting them. 8)

I could see myself getting addicted to shoes and backpacks though.

+1
To the maps and the first post.

Here's a free site for the hopeless addict:
http://store.usgs.gov/b2c_usgs/usgs/maplocator/(ctype=itemDetails&xcm=r3standardpitrex_prd&carea=%24ROOT&layout=6_1_61_48&uiarea=2)/.do

It has served my addiction well.

Boots and trail shoes. Different seasons, different reasons.

Take care of your feet and they'll take care of you.

Gloves. I'm a sucker for a late-winter sale. I must have 20 pairs.

Guidebooks. It's nice to be able to look up a proposed hike in four different books, right?

And, of course, maps. I was in heaven when I picked up an Arizona Raven wall map 10 years ago at a going-out-of-business sale for a couple of bucks...I haven't been to Arizona since, but I've got the map! My Colorado map got me through years of code-monkey cube life without going completely insane. And I have Trails Illustrated maps for places I probably won't visit more than once or twice...Cochetopa Hills? It's definitely an addiction.

Bingo. Actually, I may have too many, including two R1 hoodies, two smartwool hoodies, an R1 pullover, a couple of REI hoodies, and a dozen more baselayers in various fabrics, thickness, and zippers. It often takes me 10 minutes to match my baselayers to the day's activities and plan appropriate layers of baselayers with matching ventilation and hood/thumbloop options. Yah, I may have a problem.
