Yeah, got pretty windy at the house last night. Officials say 75mph around Forest Canyon

I woke up this morning and thought it was December, not July. Gonna be an interesting "winter".

It sure doesn't feel like the Decembers I used to remember here in Colorado. I also can't remember a time when a significant wildfire was burning here in December. RMNP should be getting feet of snow by now, and instead they're fighting a forest fire. Crazy times.

To clarify, Wild Basin and the north-east side (Lumpy Ridge area) is still open. After spending the weekend up there, Wild Basin is unaffected, but any other area in the Estes valley was definitely hazy and smelt of smoke.

I'm hoping for rain or snow later this week.

I guess the NPS wont have to worry about removing non-native grasses from Moraine Park anymore...

Went up Gem Peak this morning and didn't notice the smoke much at all. Driving back to Ft Collins a brown haze extended well to the east.
