These are getting better and better. Great time!
Thanks for organizing, Jeff, Mandy, and Carl.
Another huge shout goes out to Cookiehiker. The chocolate-covered bacon was amazing.

I would like to throw out the idea of having these things on Friday during the winter months, when getting up at the ass-crack of dawn on Saturday isn't mandatory.
This will allow people who have to work early Friday morning or those who drive several hundred miles to attend, a chance to let loose a little more, stay a little longer.

I am sure Mr. Kansas agrees.

I couldn't agree more. Thanks, Matt.

I can't agree more either. As is, Thursdays never really work for me.

I agree - great time last night albeit in a strange place. These HH's are a lot of fun! And a big thanks to the above donors, and Mandy, Carl, and Jeff for organizing. It's always nice to raise money for a good cause!

It's a good suggestion, and we can talk it over (maybe a poll?), but my concerns are thus:

1. These things work best when we take over and have a bar to ourselves. That's much harder to do on a Friday night.
2. A lot of people still do hike -- or ski -- on winter weekends.
3. The whole point of having these on Thursday is limiting the amount of times kansas can show up. That guy's bad news.

"There have been joys too great to describe in words, and there have been griefs upon which I cannot dare to dwell; and with those in mind I say, 'Climb if you will, but remember that courage and strength are nought without prudence, and that a momentary negligence may destroy the happiness of a lifetime. Do nothing in haste, look well to each step, and from the beginning think what may be the end.'" - Edward Whymper

It was a great time last night. Mandy did a fantastic job of making all of us buy raffle tickets! Thanks for supporting Friends of Berthoud Pass. While it was certainly a success, to answer a few questions I got last night, no I don't think the raffle to support FOBP will be a regular monthly thing. I don't want to lean too much on our sponsors or you guys. We've got a lot of FOBP events going on right now and we'll look forward to seeing many of you there. The next free avy class is at Bent Gate on Nov. 15th. Starts at 7:30pm. Check out our website in my signature for all of our events.

It was another very successful happy hour last night. Great job by Carl and Mandy to raise money for Friends of Berthoud Pass. I think there is a lot of potential to continue fundraising for various organizations as well as soliciting sponsors for merchandising at our events.

I enjoyed seeing everyone last night.

I just went to the free FOBP avy class in Denver recently and will vouch for its quality. It's a very informative intro and could serve as a good refresher... and FREE.

(Bring a few bucks cash to donate if you enjoy it.)

If we get one on a Friday night, I'd take a half day and drive up from NM.... I would have to crash on someone's couch, if it wouldn't be imposing. I could also rightfully claim my now beaten and battered 14ers Dance Off trophy. [-X [-X [-X
