My wife and I both have REI Sahara convertibles, and they have a zipper the full length of each removable leg. It works quite well, IMO - I can get them off over my size-13 boots by unzipping about half of each leg.

I've never seen a pair of convertible pants with a recco reflector in them. Just jackets, shell pants, and boots.

I've been using Columbia Silver ridge pants for about two years now and they have been awesome.

They are usually in $50 range but I was able to pick up a clearance pair at REI for $9 (nothing wrong with that). At any rate, I am interested to see what others say cause I'm kinda in the market a new pair.

I've been looking at these although they be a bit pricey but for some reason I love Mountain Hardware.

That's awesome! I'll definitely check them out. Thanks!

My wife has the above mentioned Golite pants and she loves them. I try not to be partial to any brand, but I consistently find that Golite makes products on par with the best in the industry for about half the price.

A recco reflector is a device attached to various parts of ski equipment that helps rescuers find someone buried in an avalanche. It's quite common to see it on higher end ski jackets. That's why many of us here looking at your forum post were wondering why you needed the recco system on your convertible hiking pants. Seems like it would be a rare pair of pants indeed.....

"Recco" was clearly short for "recommendation."

Just FYI, but REI's Labor Day sale starts today. They have some women's convertible pants on sale: http://www.rei.com/search?cat=4500013&cat=4500355&search=Women%27s+Sale+and+Clearance&cat=4501798&hist=cat%2C4500013%3AWomen%27s^search%2CWomen%27s+Sale+and+Clearance^cat%2C4500355%3AWomen%27s+Pants^cat%2C4501798%3AWomen%27s+Convertible+Pants

Sorry -- apparently that URL is too long or something. :wft:
