Fly Fishing Near Storm King Peak

Postby rhinos00 » Tue Jul 24, 2012 11:51 am

I will be in the Weminuche Wilderness from the 26th - 30th to climb Storm King, Silex, Guardian, and possibly Peak 9. Just wondering if anyone has experience fly fishing in this area? Does Lake Silex or Trinity Lake hold any trout?

I'm trying to determine whether or not it's worth bringing the extra weight and gear along. Feel free to respond here or PM me. Thanks everyone!

Not sure, but if you're not familiar, this might be a good place to ask: www.coloradomountainfishing.com

I have not been there but as of ~2005, each contained cutthroat.

Pretty hearty fish if they are in Lake Silex. It's a pretty isolated cold and desolate lake.

Thanks for the responses so far. Just wanted to check in one more time before I head off tomorrow morning.
