East Face of Fletcher is still in with several routes to choose from as of 6/3/12. Skiers are still making turns down almost all of the runs.

In the photo, the red "x" route was snow free at its middle choke point. The arrow is the route we took. The horizontal line is for a heavy cornice.

Our route was probably 70-80 degrees on the out. No ceiling.

How were the conditions in the couloir that you skied? Was the coverage good such that it may still be in decent shape come this Friday/Saturday? It looks like you can make turns down to the lake below 12,800 feet, is that correct? Do you have any photos closer up of the route you took? Thanks for the info!

Looks to me like the snow quality took a nosedive across the whole state in the last week and a half, at least for us skiers. At least it was a surprisingly good spring given the winter we had. Anyway, the North side of Tower near Silverton will hold snow for quite some time and has a number of routes on it for those of you looking for some SJ routes. http://14erskiers.com/blog/2012/06/tr-silverton-tower-27-may-2012/

jmc5040:

I do have more photos, but unfortunately I'm about to get on a plane for a business trip that will last all week; I won't have access to the computer with the photos, and that would be too late to help. If you want, PM me with a name and I can add you as a Facebook friend where I just uploaded a photo album of the trip.

We didn't ski down; we were purely a climbing party, so we did a glissade. We did see turn lines all the way to about 12,800 feet coming from multiple routes.

We never touched rock once despite ankle deep kicked steps onto the coulior.

Hope that helps.

^ That's been my view every day from work for last couple of weeks. Sadly, I did not climb it either. It's melting out quick too.

Climbed Atlantis today and started up the couloir at 8:30 am. Snow was good and it only took 30 minutes to climb the coulior. From the car it took about 2 hours to the peak.

Wanted to bump this thread. Coming out from Chicago on Thursday, and wanted to climb a couloir. Anybody have very recent info on the "Fridge" on Ice, or possibly any good beta/recent conditions from this past weekend on any couloirs? If so, please post up!!
