These loops are really great. My favorite is the one around Bison and McCurdy from Lost Park campground. That one is about 28 miles with 5k of gain. Looking to do that one mid to late May. I have run it probably 5 or 6 times. The others a couple times each. Saw a bear on the Payne Gulch loop. The southern loop from Goose Creek through Lake Park is great too.

Went back down there for another run today.

This loop is completely, 100%, snow-free:

It's astounding how fast everything melted over the last two weeks.

Nice! I see you included Bison early in the run.

How many miles and climb did this one come out at?

It was about 46 miles with 10,250' of gain. Such great trails down there!!

There's an INSANE amount of blowdown on the Lake Park Trail too... apparently a not-so-micro microburst came thru this winter and uprooted most of the trees in a 1/2 mile swath up the climb from the McCurdy trail.

Took Sugar and I just under 14.5h, a little off our game yesterday, but damn that was a big loop. I fully blame him for the insidiousness of it all.
Fantastic area, amazingly unique scenery, I'll try and post out some photos this AM since I'm still recovering.

Eric

Edit: Here are the photos from our run, conditions are spectacular on the trail for the most part (besides the blow down). The seasonal water sources are drying up already,so plan water accordingly.
