He lost me at patty cake. Bs

He was probably on drugs and got too close to the cubs, the mother attacked him then a lion prevented him from getting killed as the mother backed off

The guy sounds like a loon to me, but I like his wife.

As for lessons learned "He doesn't learn". I've heard that before...

This can't be real. Patty cake does seem far fetched.

Man attacked, saved by bear. To me sounds like he was attacked, but you don't know by what, and then saved by the bear. I get what you are saying though.
Man attacked, saved, by bear. Perhaps the bear was simply nearby.

Sounds to me like the man's patty cake with the cub was from a previous encounter and he was saying that the mother bear probably recognized him from previous times in the woods. Pretty crazy but cool.

Not only is the title lacking a certain... grammatical correctness... but this post probably should have included a poll about approximately what percentage of it is fictional.

I think the scenario that assumes the hiker was loaded on drugs is by far the most plausible... lots and lots of drugs... and good ones.

The article said the man is a "naturist." I thought that is another term for "nudist."
