Vallecito Creek Trail

Does anyone have information about the water level on Vallecito Creek at the Dead Horse crossing? My wife and I were hoping to take that trail next week. We're hoping to cross Vallecito there.

I don't have any direct information for you for this year. I have been in there twice since the bridge was destroyed several
years ago, but always later in the summer. Given the amount of snow that people are reporting in Chicago Basin, I
would expect that crossing to be fairly difficult right now.

As of Thursday, the Dead Horse crossing was low-thigh deep (on a 6'0" person). There are two hand lines strung across Vallecito.

Thanks for finding that gauging site. In prior years I had never been able to find one that wasn't below the Vallecito Dam.
And that was mostly worthless because its flow depended on how much water the dam operators were releasing from
the reservoir.
