Boney M! Best Ever! Also try Rick James on long trail decents. You'll find yourself running down that trail! Weed helps.

Only once, on my last Elbert summit (09/24/09). It was perfect, just about 50 ft from the summit I got my mp3 player and I present my 3 favorite songs:
1.- Summit - Into Thin Air: Death On Everest (soundtrack).
2.- Here comes the sun - Everest IMAX (soundtrack).
3.- Terminal Frost - Pink Floyd.

...and the conditions were perfect, half foot snow, 8 F, 30 mp/h. All my gear on, it was simply amazing. 8) 8) 8) 8)

This last summer I kept getting Roxanne by the Police stuck in my head. I don't know why.

Last weekend I just ran a Jingle Bell 5K with about 500 others. 60% of them had MP3's. One little girl who was about 5-7 yrs. old had one on. Had trouble the entire time keeping it in her ears. Continually stopped along the way to plug them back in. Like she couldn't run without it. Now this was just a 3 mile run for Christ sakes. IMHO, MP3's can be very motivational or good to a point if used at the right times. But when we are running through a park of millions of Christmas lights for 3 miles and can't seem to take two steps without it? I think there is lost focus of why we are there.

I'm also in the no music on the trail club. I listen to music enough in the car and at home and I play in 2 bands so getting out is an escape from a lot of things, including noise.

Yall are too uptight. For me music helps theme the climb as well as different parts of it. I usually have a good mix of Rock/Grass/Jazz/Downtempo for my music. Check out these guys next time.

Snoop Dogg (featuring The Dream) wouldn't let me embed his video...so all you get is a link this time.
