Route Photos - Hovering

Postby Kojones » Fri Jan 11, 2008 2:10 pm

Howdy Bill -

I noticed for a little while now that on the route pages, when I hover over a picture or a mention of a picture in the route description, the enlarged picture shows up way above where my mouse is, often mostly or all the way off the visible part of the page. Any way to make these pop up right above the mouse or at least closer?

Thanks!

I have IE7 and Firefox 2.0.0.9 and the graphic hovers work fine in both. What browser/version are you using? Maybe it's a version-specific glitch that I can code around.

The script is suppose to pop up the image just above or below the mouse cursor depending on the pointer position on the screen. That means if there is not enough room to display the image below the pointer, it will be displayed above with the bottom of the image just above the pointer. Is this top or bottom of the image near the mouse pointer?

If you are displaying the pages with a low-resolution monitor (800x600 pixels), this may cause part of the image to be "off the page." If you are having the problem, what's your screen resolution?

I've had the same problem actually. I just thought I was drinking too much.

I just tested it under 800x600 screen resolution and the photos do go "off the page." The photos are generally 550 pixels wide, so they would have to be centered on the page under that resolution. The script puts them off to the side so you can still read along when the photo is displayed.

If it's a screen resolution thing, maybe I could add a setting on the "Display Settings" page to adjust for this.

I think the bigger issue is why people are using IE at all. Switch to Firefox and all will be well. Or just buy a Mac :D

[-X Settle down, I have both. I use both. I just happen to believe Mac's work far better on many levels.

I had that same problem on my work computer today. No issues at the higher resolution now.

I've had the same problem too, and I also thought it was just because Tommy was drinking too much.
