What does a Global Moderator do?

Postby RenoBob » Mon Dec 24, 2007 1:34 pm

Just curious, I noticed the catagory/title of Global Moderator (USAKeller) at the bottom of the forum index. What functions and responsiblities go with this position?

Don't ask too many questions or the Moderators (aka big brother) will make your profile disappear.

They can delete posts and users and basically keep some sort of law and order on this forum.

USAKeller has agreed to be a moderator in case things go awry when I'm unable to view the site. As a moderator, she can remove offensive posts, spam, or move threads that were posted in the wrong location. Having another moderator has already been helpful and someday we may need to add a few more.

Thank you USAKeller!

It's a sad day when we need hall monitors on 14ers.com. We have we ever posted offensive threads, spam etc.? Kidding....
It's good that Bill can get a break from the website and USAKeller can wield the whip if necessary.

Yo, Duffus:
I bet you thought a Global Moderator was some sort of gizmo invented by Al Gore

Bill, are your clocks on Central Time? Has daylight savings on the computer been messed up? Right now it is 3:47 (in Mountain Time) and the time of this posting will probably say 4:47. Is there some standard I don't know about?
I get acute mountain sickness when I am away from the mountains.

Yeah, I had messed around with the DST settings and never got back to it. Must of had to go skiing!
Now the server is set to MT with DST off. If your time is still off, check the "Board Settings" tab in your profile to make sure you have the correct time zone settings.

Thanks for pointing this out.

I am personally surprised you have managed to maintain the site by yourself for so long. Many other boards this size have several moderators. I guess that just shows how well-behaved us members are, right? :P However, it seems like you picked a deserving person to say the least. I can't help but feel my friend Camillo was snubbed though..
when the moon first rose tonight, my eyes were met with such a beautiful sight. a feeling deep inside so hard to explain, so familiar yet impossible to name. this is the place where dreams come true, a part of me and a part of you. this is where our spirits fly, on beams of light across the sky...and i'll meet you, in the valley of the full moon. as bright as the sun, in the middle of the afternoon.
