He's about 30+ min ahead of his projected times after Quandary... according to a friend out crewing/shuttling him. It appears his SPOT isn't on or isn't working. I sent them a text but I doubt they'll get it until after the Decalibron. Probably no service up the Kite Lake road.

This is insane, and yet awesome at the same time. I hope he gets all 14.

we saw the beav in action today on Torreys. Go Beav Go!!!
There is a pleasure in the pathless woods;
There is a rapture on the lonely shore;
There is society, where no one intrudes,
By the deep sea, and music in its roar:
I love not man the less, but Nature more......

I've been thinking for a while that someone who is in shape should make a point to kicking the Tenmile/Mosquito 14ers' butts. Glad to see it's being done. Go Eric!

I like this attempt and hope for more crazy attempts at records this summer.

Thanks all, twas a good day in the mountains. Evans-Quandary went fairly smoothly, as the weather held. I had a rough go of it on the DeCaLiBron, just wasn't acclimated enough and suffered a lot above 13k, same on Sherman as well. Just after 11:30pm last night I called it quits at 11000ft on the Iowa Gulch Rd. Just wasn't feeling up for another trip up above 13k and with a 100miler (UTMB) looming in 5weeks opted to live to fight another day.
I ended up summiting nine 14ers in 18h37min, not quite what I'd hoped for, but a good day none the less. I definitely think better acclimated and a little better rested 12-13 is not out of the question, there are also others out there faster than I that could probably maybe even take it a step further. Big thanks to my friends for helping drive me around, made it a ton easier. Trip report to come, maybe today as I sit and rest my tired legs. Sorry about the SPOT, tried a bunch of different things yesterday, but couldn't get it to pick up a GPS signal (not batteries, not sky visibility, something else).

Eric,
That's awesome. Nine 14ers in 18 hours. =D> Still an excellent day.
Mountains cast spells on me - Why, because of the way Earth-heaps lie, should I be Chocked by joy mysteriously; stilled or drunken-gay? Why should a brown hill trail Tug at my feet to go? Why should a boggy swale Tune my heart to a nameless tale Mountain marshes know?

Sounds like an awesome day indeed.

What's the record for most 14ers (+3000ft) in 24 hours?
